Courses & Charges:

BLS for Healthcare Providers - Classroom

Audience
This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

Course Content
• Key changes in basic life support, reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
• The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
• 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
• 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
• Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
• Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
• Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
• Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
• CPR with an advanced airway*

* This is an introduction to the compression/ventilation rate and ratio for a patient who has an advanced airway in place. For more information on advanced airways, please refer to the Airway Management Course.

Initial Provider Course requires approximately 4.5 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing.

Heartsaver CPR AED - Classroom

Audience
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

Course Content
• Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
• Adult CPR and AED use
• Optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking
• Optional written test

Charge $50.00 for CPR
with First Aid Charge $75.00
Skills Testing $40.00


Approximately how long do the Heartsaver classroom courses take to complete?
A: The following are the approximate completion times for each course. Times are based on a recommended ratio of 6 students to 2 manikins to 1 Instructor. Using a different ratio of students to manikins to Instructors will result in increased course completion times.
· Heartsaver First Aid: approximately 2 – 3 hours
· Heartsaver CPR AED: approximately 3 – 4 hours
· Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED: approximately 5 – 7 hours

Heartsaver First Aid - Classroom

Course Content
The Heartsaver First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. The course also provides corporations with a complete health and safety training solution for First Aid, CPR and AED. The Heartsaver First Aid Course has been developed using the same evidence-based process as all American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care courses. Course Description The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult CPR and AED.

Family & Friends CPR

Audience
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life.

Course Content
The Family & Friends CPR program teaches:
• Adult Hands-Only™ CPR
• Adult AED use
• Child CPR
• Infant CPR
• Adult, child and infant relief of choking

Charge: $20.00
Cost; The price does not include wear and tear on the manikins
Skills Testing $40.00

Heartsaver First Aid - Classroom
